Saturday 16 May 2015

Hello, another week has come around & we have a brand new challenge(137) over at Glitternsparkle & this time our sponsor is oddballartco. our theme is use some ribbon. The image used is Patty Cake & i coloured her with Promarkers. I thought she looked sad so decided to use bright, zingy orange, lemon & lime. I hand cut a frame using orange card, mounted with foam pads onto the image. I matted orange card onto a white card blank then matted a bright design paper on top. I then placed the framed image on top & embellished with a snipped Tattered Lace die cut & colour matched flowers & the all important ribbon (with a bow).
Hi & welcome to my blog page.I have just made this for my grandson's & really enjoyed doing it. I took an impression of their footprints using air drying clay which i lightly dusted with pastel blending chalk. I used a Katy Sue design mould & clay to make the embellishments & painted them with acrylic paint then fixed to a 'washing line'. After i backed the pic with polka dot card i wrote a little message(using word), printed out then cut & affixed with foam pads. I think it'll make a nice keepsake. x

I left the middle section blank to add an appropriate sentiment to & stencilled corner flourishes using Imagination Crafts Sparkle medium. Hope you like.

I took a diecut card blank, turned it on it's side & added new score lines so the fancy easel front popped forward & appears to float. I joined another piece of card for the base, covered that & the card inside with teal pearl paper & used the spare die cuts from the card blank as 'frills' to which i added a stamped sentiment. The embellishments are from the Kimono range & are stamps which i coloured & cut out then mounted on foam pads. Feel free to comment, i am always interested in your opinion. Happy crafting x

Saturday 18 April 2015

Hi everyone, a new Glitternsparkle challenge 133, theme anything but a card.  I made this for my nieces' lilac & pink themed wedding in June. Our sponsor is Sami Stamps & the image is Spring Branch. I printed, coloured (using Promarkers & Wink of Stella, clear shimmer) then handcut the image several times to adorn the trelliswork of the gazebo which was cut using a Silhouette Cameo. I made 3 box shapes, covered them in lace & stacked them to resemble a wedding cake which I decorated with lilac & pink leaves, flowers & pearls.I added matching flowers on the roof with curled ribbons running down to cherubs, which I outlined in lilac ink & Wink of Stella(clear shimmer). I made a matching tag with hearts & wedding day embossed on white shimmer layered onto linen card. I added matching lilac sparkly ribbon around the base to disguise the join. It took a while to make but I enjoyed making it & that's what, for me, crafting is all about. Happy crafting x

Saturday 28 February 2015

Hi i really enjoyed doing this bright & cheery card for the Glitternsparkle challenge 126, the theme was 'anything goes'. Our sponsor this week was Crafty Sentiments & the image i used was 'Tess summer fun'. I used Promarkers to colour the image which i then die cut into a circle, inked around with green & layered onto a scalloped circle die cut, edged inside with orange ink. I used a bracket shape for my base card & matted a hot pink polka dot die cut square on top then repeated the same with another two layers. I cut up a Tattered Lace circle die to use to embellish the corners with, added a stamped sentiment, pearls, flowers & punched leaves. I thought we could do with some summery reminders to cheer us up. Happy crafting x

For the Glitternsparkle challenge 125 the theme was black&white. Our sponsor was Stitchybear stamps & i used image 'Floral frame 1'. I matted 4 layers alternate black & white card onto a custom made card blank, on the top layer i used a Spellbinders embossing folder on Centura Pearl card. I cut the centre from an oval die cut & coloured it black then layed it on top of the remaining white diecut. I coloured some of the floral frame image black then cut it out & placed it on top, then i stamped & cut out a sentiment as the final layer. Although the photo doesn't pick it up i added accents of Stickles in Black Diamond. Finally i added a satin bow & jewel embellishment. This made a very heavyweight card, giving it a quality feel. x

Hi, i made this box card for Challenge 127 the theme is decorate inside & out. The image is Strawberry Muffin from our sponsor Sunflower Field. After colouring the image, using Spectrum Noir pencils, I cut it out & mounted it on the frame (which i tinted with a pastel green Promarker) of a box card i made. Hope you like it, it makes me feel hungry for cake when i look at it!!! Happy crafting x
